In 1993, Creighton established the nation's first Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT), leading the entire profession. Creighton's Physical Therapy program offers students an ideal setting for innovative work with a focus on maintaining quality and dignity of life and enriching the human community.

We are committed to leadership in clinical doctoral education through academic excellence, significant scholarly contributions, service to the community and fostering societal and professional dedication within our graduates. Our curriculum continues to evolve through integrated course content that reflects the dynamic and ever-changing health care landscape.

Our faculty is comprised of nationally renowned leaders in the field who are dedicated to hands-on teaching, mentoring and addressing the needs of student learning. They average more than 15 years of clinical experience and serve the profession demonstrating national leadership in rehabilitation research and the advanced study of human motion. Our program is nationally recognized for research in clinical reasoning.Over 44 weeks of supervised clinical practice is provided in the curriculum - up to 9 weeks more training than the national average. PT students choose from more than 400 clinical training sites in the U.S. and foreign countries - including a third world opportunity in the Dominican Republic.

Creighton is a Jesuit, Catholic institution with about 9,000 students. Nearly 35% are pursuit health science professional degrees. Creighton has a dynamic partnership with Alegent Creighton Health with the Greater Omaha and surrounding areas.

While Creighton does not have a minimum GPA requirement for review, we do recommend students have a 3.1 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 science GPA or above to be competitive for admission. All applicant academic credentials are reviewed on an individual basis.

While 1/1/2020 is the last acceptable GRE test date, waiting until this late to take the exam is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED due to our rolling admission process, as well as the timing and competitiveness of the applicant pool. Applicants are encouraged to take the GRE no later than September 2019.

A minimum TOEFL score of 80 on the IBT or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 is required. Applicants should enter the Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions TOEFL / IELTS Code number 6126 on their answer sheets when they sit for the examination and/or when completing a TOEFL / IELTS Score Report Request Form. TOEFL is waived if candidate completes a minimum of two years of full-time coursework at an accredited United States college or university.
