The Division of Physical Therapy at Emory is ranked among the top graduate programs in physical therapy in the United States. General Decision Information:

Round one PTCAS application deadline: 9/15/2019. If invited, interview will be in November.

Round two PTCAS application deadline: 10/15/2019. If invited, interview will be in January.

We cannot review any PTCAS application that is not fully complete or any application that PTCAS has not verified.  Please keep in mind that during peak application season, it takes several weeks before we receive your submitted application from PTCAS. Therefore, applicants should have their applications submitted with ALL supporting documents well before the deadline.  After initial review, qualifying students will be invited for an interview which is a requirement for admission.  Classes will begin in June 2020.

Special eligibility requirements for Early Decision candidates
To qualify for early decision, candidates must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate total GPA and Science GPA of 3.5. Candidates must score in the 50th percentile or above on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE. The highest percentile ranking for each section will be utilized even if obtained on different testing dates. If invited, on campus interviews will be held in mid-September.

Observation Hours: We strongly encourage experiences in multiple physical therapy settings e.g. Acute care, outpatient, rehabilitation, pediatric, geriatric, etc. For a physical therapy experience in a setting to be counted, a minimum of 30 hours must be completed in that setting.

Additional information about program's reference requirements
Emory University requires 3 letters of recommendation:

1. One letter must be from a professor who has taught you at the undergraduate or graduate level and can speak to your academic abilities. Letters from teaching assistants, graduate assistants, academic advisors, lab instructors, internship advisors, etc. will not fulfill this requirement.
2. One letter must be from a licensed physical therapist with whom you have observed, worked or volunteered and can speak to your suitability for the profession.
3. One letter may be a reference of your choice. However, letters from family members, friends and acquaintances, or clergy WILL NOT be accepted. Letters from physical therapists, professors, lab instructors, coaches, or supervisors/employers are encouraged.
