Program Description more...

The Division of Physical Therapy is housed in the School of Allied Health Sciences at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). FAMU was founded in 1887. Today, FAMU, is the premiere school amongst historically black colleges and universities, and FAMU is the only historically black university amongst the eleven member State University System of Florida. FAMU affirms its historic mission of educating African-Americans as well as encouraging persons of all races, ethnic origins and nationalities to attend and to remain life-long members of the university community.

The Physical Therapy faculty are committed to providing an enlightened and enriched academic, intellectual, moral, cultural, ethical, technological and student-centered environment, that is conducive to the development of highly qualified individuals who are prepared and capable of serving as leaders and contributors in our evolving society. The physical therapy program is fully accredited by CAPTE and its graduates are employed in a variety of agencies across the United States.
