The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Western Kentucky University is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), 1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314; telephone: 703-706-3245; email: accreditation@apta.org; website: http://www.capteonline.org.

The entry-level Program is 3 years, (6 semesters and 3 summer sessions) consisting of 118 credit hours and 36 weeks of full time clinical education. The WKU DPT Program strives to prepare physical therapists who are generalists and who demonstrate competence, integrity, ethics, professional behaviors, and empathetic attitudes in their practices. The Mission of the WKU DPT Program is to serve the health care and preventative needs of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, including the rural and under-served areas, by developing culturally competent, caring, and autonomous physical therapists who will engage in critical thinking, evidence-based practice, professional behavior, life-long learning, and community/professional service.

Transcripts and GRE scores MUST be sent to both PTCAS AND Western Kentucky University (WKU) Graduate School.  Your application will NOT be reviewed if your transcrpt or GRE scores are not received by both PTCAS and the WKU Graduate School by the application deadline.

The $500 non-refundable deposit is due approximately 7-10 days (date specified in offer of acceptance) after being notified of acceptance into the DPT Program. The $500 will be applied to the first year's fall semester tuition and fees.
