The University of South Dakota offers a full-time 3-year DPT program with competitive tuition rates. Our mission is to develop scholars, practitioners, and life-long learners who provide evidence based physical therapist services throughout the patient lifespan and demonstrate leadership within rural and medically underserved practice environments. We are pleased to provide a small class size with a 3:1 student to faculty ratio. Our students participate in 38 weeks of full-time clinical education experiences in 5 different settings and several 1 day clinical experiences during the second year of the program. At least one reference must be from a physical therapist. It is recommended that the other two be from an instructor/professor, employer/supervisor, or a second physical therapist.

General information
All coursework must be completed and a Baccalaureate degree obtained by June 1, 2020.

AP minimum score of 4/5 must be met for any pre-requisite coursework. A syllabus and score report must also be sent directly to USD. Please submit this documentation via email to pt@usd.edu or via USPS and include ATTN: USD Physical Therapy in the address line.

CLEP and pass/fail courses are not acceptable for pre-requisites with a lab component.

No more than 2 incomplete pre-requisite courses will be allowed following completion of your fall 2019 semester.

One course cannot be utilized to fulfill more than one prerequisite requirement.
