    Program Description
The Walsh University Physical Therapy program is committed to providing an educational program that both challenges and enhances a student's ability to learn through a student-centered, values-based teaching environment that focuses on clinical-decision making, evidence-based practice, and service to the wider community. The Walsh University Physical Therapy curriculum, an intensive three-year (8-semester) program, including summers, leads to a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. A variety of active learning strategies are implemented to enhance student learning and critical thinking. Coursework builds upon a foundation of basic sciences and problem-solving skills integrated through a series of practice-based courses centered on major body systems. Productive scholarship and licensure preparation are also keystone components to the program. Upon successful completion of the academic and clinical components of the curriculum, graduates are qualified for the licensure examination required in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and in the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and Guam. Message from the Program Director Thank you for your interest in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Walsh University. Your interest signifies your quest for quality and opportunity. The faculty and physical therapy team are confident that you will find these at Walsh University, a truly extraordinary place. We define our extraordinary nature as the "Walsh Difference". What is the "Walsh Difference"? It is a distinction that is both intangible and tangible. The intangible elements are those that bind us to the mission of Walsh University. We are a proud Catholic Institution in which the faculty, students and staff all walk, talk and live the spirit that was created over 50 years ago by the founders of the University, the Brothers of Christian Instruction. The tangible elements include small class sizes, stellar teaching, exceptional clinical rotations, strong relationships with faculty members, state of the art facilities, and scholarly successes by both the students and the faculty.
